"One Final Word" Don't forget to glance up from your keyboard and see how blue the sky is now and then. Don't forget to put away your cell phone and spend some time alone with paintbrush or pen. Don't forget to seek the sound of silence and let the daily traffic rush on by.
Remember that the secret of success is how happily you climb and not how high!
2008 Season Finale:
Eight months has come and gone. The 2008 club season will soon will be
just a distant memory as we are parting ways for a while. For our five senior players - it's the last time we made plans and the
last time we stood together as a team. As the road comes to an end for
now, there will be more time to reflect back on what we have
accomplished as a club, as a team, and as individuals. Always, our
goal is to be the best we can be on and off the court.
For the class of 2009 and later:
The success that you have with us is only a stepping stone to what is to
come. Now its time to sit down and go over with your family to see if
the direction Columbia is going is the right or the same direction that
you are heading to. If we're not the right the direction for you, there will
always be other clubs to choose from for the 2009 season. In the mean time, if
we are the right club for you, we would like to welcome you back to the
tryouts to be held in November. We would like to wish all of you the very
best with your upcoming high school season. As always, your classroom performance
is more important than all the winning that you have on the court,
take care of your classroom first. We'll see you in November!
For the Class of 2008: As
we are parting ways and seeing you pursuing your own life and your own
personal goals at the next level, we would like to wish each of you the
very best with your next endeavors. Your time and your commitment to
our club for the last few years were the best we've ever seen, and the
records you've set will forever be our standard in the future. Now is
the time for you to explore your independent dreams, we are very proud
of you all and your futures are bright. As the road that will lead you
to
your goals might be winding, or unpaved, please never settle for less. We Hope You Dance!
For all of our parents: Without yoU, there will be no ColUmbia. Thank you for your support of your daughter(s).

(The 2008 Volleyball Festival-Reno): WOW.....Columbia
Jrs. rocked Reno for sure! It was the most sucessful Volleyball
Festival for Columbia Jrs. ever as a program. For us to be competing
against the best clubs throughout the whole week, the end results were
more than we expected- simply our best ever. All five Columbia teams reached the Qualifier Brackets, two teams reached the Championship bracket, and a third reached the Silver bracket. Great job everyone!
Our 18-Black was
leading the pack with their 1st time ever qualifying for the Elite Eight. Not
just competing in the Elite Eight, but they came so close to making it into finals
(losing a very close match in the quarter final of 18 & under and finishing 7th place overall.) Our best ever U-18 finish at Volleyball Festival!
Our younger team, 17-Black
was not to be denied their share of the spotlight, making a run up to the #2 seed in the 17 & under age group, but losing in the semifinal to
place 5th overall. (This team included a core that reached the U-16 Elite Eight the year before.) Our best finish ever by a Columbia team!
16-Black was flirting with the Sweet 16 for awhile in the 16 & under age group, but ending up in 31st place overall. The 2nd best finish ever for a U-16 Columbia team!
Our 15-Black
was playing at the Festival this year as well. As they were trying to
make their own noise, the team was not able to to make the top 32 teams
in their age group, but the team settled for 42nd place overall. The best ever finish by a Columbia U-15 team!
14-Black
was not just making a headline by winning the banner contest, but our
youngsters made it all the way up to as high as 19th seed, but slipped to 50th overallat the end. They still posted the 2nd best finish ever for a U-14 Columbia team!
For the 2008 The Volleyball
Festival, it was the most successful trip ever for our club, especially for a small market club like us to have 2 teams in the elite eight, a top 32
teams, and two more teams in the top 50 (every team reaching the qualifier brackets) - really something to be proud of!GREAT JOB
GIRLS and coaches.
Final Results for Columbia at the Volleyball Festival:
18-Black finishes 7th overall! - 8-2 record, the first Elite Eight U-18 finish in Columbia history. Finished first among Pacific Northwest teams.
17-Black finishes 5th overall! - 9-3 record, the best finish in Columbia history for any division. Finished second among Pacific Northwest teams.
16-Black finishes 5th in the Conquest Division, 31st overall of 181 teams in their age division! - 6-6 record.
15-Black finishes 3rd in the Challenge Division, 42nd overall of 113 teams in their age division! - 5-6 record.
14-Black finishes 5th in the Contest Division, 50th overall of 140 teams in their age division and 4th among Pacific Northwest teams! - 4-6 record - 14-Black won the 2008 Opening Ceremonies Banner Contest!
